The River Red Gum Estate subdivision - funded by a $1.5 million NSW Government grant and council funds - was officially opened at the weekend.
The blocks, which are described as being in an idyllic rural location, just a stone’s throw from the Murrumbidgee River, are now selling.
Murrumbidgee Mayor Ruth McRae OAM said the opening marked an exciting milestone for the council and the Darlington Point community.
“We’ve had enormous interest in River Red Gum Estate, and we are proud to see it come to life,” she said.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a block in such a special location, both for locals and for those looking to move to our wonderful area.”
Council said the estate offers new housing opportunities for locals and those looking to move to town, in an iconic location that honours the town’s history and culture.
Two of the roads in the estate - Helena Parade and Edwards St - are names after influential locals and families.
The third road in the estate - Gugaa St - is Wiradjuri for goanna, which is an important totem for its people.
The estate features 55 residential lots, ranging in size and price from 757m² to 1,053m², offering options to suit various buyers.
The fully serviced subdivision includes sealed roads, NBN connectivity, state-of-the-art solar powered street lighting, with the local primary school, shops, sporting and community facilities, and the proposed Early Learning Centre all close by.
Council has selected Ray White Real Estate Griffith as the selling agents.
