The afternoon of entertainment will be held at the Deniliquin White Lion Hotel from 1pm, in place of an Anzac Day race meet which was scheduled for Monday.
The Racing Club was forced to cancel the races due to track conditions.
A Racing NSW steward visited Deniliquin Wednesday last week and deemed the track unsuitable for the six-card meet.
Despite concerted efforts by the club to improve the track over the last 18 months, a dry summer has taken its toll.
While the steward did offer the Deniliquin Racing Club another week to improve the conditions, the club felt there was too great a risk in waiting for a green light that was not guaranteed.
President Greg Danckert said in its place, the Deniliquin Racing Club will host a social event with the traditional two up at the White Lion Hotel on Anzac Eve.
To reward members who will again miss out on one of two race meets, a $500 members’ draw will be conducted at the event.
Members do not need to be in attendance to win the draw, however it will only be for financial members.
You can still register before Sunday, with memberships to be paid by online bank transfer - to BSB 633-000, Account 146592142.
The social event kicks off at 1pm, with music, two up supporting Legacy and the members’ draw. Meals are also available.
Anyone who has pre-purchased a ticket to the Anzac Day race meet should receive a refund to the account used to purchase tickets in coming days.
