Member for Northern Victoria, Mark Gepp MP recently announced that three schools in the Goulburn Valley were among 47 schools to share in $4.275 million in Term two funding for projects under the Planned Maintenance Program (PMP).
Two other schools in the region, Congupna Primary and Harston Primary were both allocated a total of $10,000.
The Planned Maintenance program ensures schools can undertake essential work to grounds and classrooms such as fixing roofs and windows, painting, resurfacing floors and replacing windows, as well as external landscaping works like pathways and lighting.
Mr Gepp said works are determined by a rolling facilities evaluation process, which provides up-to-date information on the condition of schools to create a faster and more targeted allocation of PMP funding.
“This investment ensures local students can learn in safe settings that complement the top-class education we are committed to providing,” Mr Gepp said.
“I’m delighted to see these schools share in funding to get much-needed maintenance projects off the ground.”
The funding is on top of $5.84 million already provided to 57 schools through Term one PMP allocations and ensures existing buildings at Victoria’s 1,500 state schools are safe, modern and properly maintained.
