Join the health conversation
The Local Health Advisory Committee is working in conjunction with the Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network to bring the “Conversations on the Couch” program to Tocumwal.
This free session is a part of a Health Needs Assessment that is taking place across the Murrumbidgee region, aimed at identifying and finding solutions for any gaps in the health services they offer.
MHPN is seeking your health stories and your views to help it plan for your local health needs now and in the future.
Residents are encouraged to come and chat about any concerns or ideas they may have about health services in their community.
Past conversations have raised awareness of issues such as mental health of farmers, GP shortages, and awareness and access to specialty services.
This year, MHPN is hoping to receive feedback on Aboriginal and Indigenous health services, LGBTQIA+ health services, mental health for all members of the community, and migrant and refugee health.
They will also be seeking feedback on child, maternity, family, teen, and farmer health, along with dedicated men’s and womens’ health issues.
The Tocumwal session will be held at Chrissie’s Book Lounge, 44 Deniliquin St, on Friday, August 26 between 9.30am to 11.30pm.
An encouraging amount of like-minded crafters attended the first session of the Tocumwal Makers group, with the next session set to be held this Friday.
The group meets 10am to noon at the Tocumwal Library.
You are invited to bring a project you are creating, whether you are into fibre crafts, drawing, miniatures, or any other portable creative hobby.
Attendance is free, with tea and coffee supplied for a gold coin.
With many fundraising activities put on hold over the past two years, the Tocumwal Public School P&C Committee is holding a 2022 major raffle for some amazing prizes.
First prize is a John Deere S120 Ride On Mower valued at $4,400, second is a Stihl blower and brush cutter set valued at $699 and third is a $399 Stihl electric mower.
All prizes are generously sponsored by Hutcheon and Pearce Finley.
There are only 400 tickets available, at $25 each.
