And before we know it the summer sports finals will be upon us and preparation for the winter competition will step up with practice matches.

Tongala Football Netball Club had plans of winning its first senior premiership since 1983 frustrated last year when the Murray league’s finals series was called off due to COVID-19.

On Monday evening Alex Williams and Jack Hammond were among the Tongala footballers involved in a gruelling running session.

At the neighbouring netball courts there were more than 30 players involved in a session similar in intensity to what was happening on the main oval. Among the participants was all-round sport star Sienna Johnstone.
