Ms Bisset will be covering the area from Kinglake and Cathedral Range right up to along the Murray River from near Echuca to Wodonga.
With a farming background, having grown up on large farming properties in southern NSW and central Victoria, Ms Bisset moved to Murrindindi Shire 20 years ago.
Her initial career as an outdoor education teacher cemented her connection to the natural environment — teaching primary-, secondary- and tertiary-aged students.
She has worked at Lake Mountain Alpine Resort and in local government at Murrindindi Shire Council. She is also a Murrindindi Shire councillor.
Ms Bisset has a bachelor of arts, graduate diploma in education and diploma in senior management, and has recently completed her masters of business administration. She is also a graduate of the Alpine Valleys Community Leadership Program.
A mother of teenage twins, Ms Bisset sits on numerous committees and boards, including several local sporting clubs, as well as community and education organisations.
“The team at Parks Victoria is a group of knowledgeable and passionate people who not only care for our environment, we also live in and contribute to the communities in which we work in,” Ms Bisset said.
“I’m thrilled to have joined the team and each week that passes I am learning more about the many parks and reserves, just how important they are, and the complex job we have in managing them for now and future generations to enjoy.
“Many of us choose to live where we do because of the beautiful natural surroundings — much of which is parks and forests. Parks Victoria works hard to serve these communities and protect these beautiful places.”
