And now she has her entrepreneurial foot in the door with the opening of Sole Solutions Podiatry in Nagambie and Avenel.
The new business will cover all aspects of podiatry including general nail and skin care, diabetic foot care, paediatric podiatry, biomechanics and sports podiatry, orthotics and nail surgeries, and will offer home visits.
The 27-year-old mother of two and former Assumption College student studied podiatry at La Trobe University in Bundoora while working in Seymour and Avenel.
Teagan said she chose to study podiatry because it was one of the few health professions where someone could walk in with a large amount of pain and leave with none.
“I wanted to help people and I saw that podiatry allowed me to have an immediate impact on patients’ wellbeing and comfort,” she said.
“Plus there are so many different specialisations you can go into when you study podiatry.”
After finally scratching the entrepreneurial itch, Teagan admitted the learning curve required for running a business was a little daunting.
“Some of my skills from previous jobs have transferred across into this but I still have plenty to learn,” she said.
“It’s a bit scary because I don’t have any experience running a business, but I’m determined to make it work.
“My focus will be providing quality care to my patients through my skills in podiatry and I will work the rest of it out as I go along.”
Sole Solutions Podiatry is located at the doctor’s surgery in Nagambie at 20 Church St, and at the doctor’s surgery in Avenel at 2 Queen St.
