Tastes of the Goulburn a huge hit

A few showers couldn’t keep hundreds of people from flocking to Station St for Seymour’s Tastes of the Goulburn.

The 17th edition of the one-day event celebrating the Goulburn River and Ranges’ natural attributes and local produce was a huge hit, with many wineries having to restock after strong sales.

Chairman James Hall said crowd numbers were up 10 per cent on last year.

“We had 300 people come with the 707 Operations train, 100 with the Diesel Electric Rail Motor Association of Victoria and another group come on a vintage bus,” he said.

“It seems to be tradition to have a few showers the weekend of the event, but it didn’t stop people. Feedback was positive from guests and producers.”

“Tastes of the Goulburn helps to promote the region. We’re not in a designated tourist destination, so events like this help showcase and promote our region.”
