VCE folios will be the highlight of the two-day event, which will also feature artwork from a range of other year levels in various mediums including ceramics, photography, painting, drawing and textiles.
The exhibition will also feature the opening of a textile installation for the windows of the Community Art Centre.
The installation aims to represent the students’ identity and will be on display for the next 12 months.
Guest speaker will be past student Robert Richards, who works in the design industry and will look to show students where their study can take them.
Art teacher Margaret-Anne Milburn said members of the public were encouraged to drop in and enjoy the students’ creative talents.
“A lot of work has gone into this exhibition by students and staff and it will be great to get feedback from friends, family and the general public,” she said.
“Our thanks go to Year 8 student Vanessa Smith for her artwork on the promotional poster.
“I also want to thank art teachers Margaret Tuckwell and Colin McLeod-Smith for their expert guidance of the students.
“It’s been a team effort and I can’t wait to see it all come together.”
The opening gala is on November 21 from 5pm to 8pm. There will be refreshments served and the guest speaker at 6pm.
The exhibition is open from 9am to 8pm November 21 and 9am to 4pm November 22 at the Community Art Centre, corner of Anglesey and Loco streets, Seymour.
