The event attracted skydivers from around Australia for a weekend of entertainment, which Skydive Nagambie operations manager Tom Fletcher described as a ‘‘skydiver’s paradise’’.
Mr Fletcher said many of the attendees and coaches at the event were preparing to travel to California next month in an attempt to break the current Australian record for formation skydiving.
‘‘People at the event were doing some preparation for the Australian national record ... the current record is 119 skydivers all forming one large formation in the sky.
‘‘We had a lot of people coming to do some last opportunity training for that.’’
Mr Fletcher said the current record was set in 2015 and a number of local skydivers were training to be involved in the current record-breaking attempt.
Along with formation skydiving, the event showcased some head-down free fly jumps, tandem skydivers and the use of wind suits.
Mr Fletcher said a number of first-timers also took to the skies to try their hand at skydiving.
‘‘We had people doing tandem skydives during the event, people who had never skydived came along and did their first ever jump while watching the skydivers doing their thing,’’ he said.
Mr Fletcher said the event was well-received by participants and bystanders, saying there were plans to make the event bigger and better each year.
‘‘Our plan is to make this the go-to Easter skydiving event in the country . . . I think we absolutely succeeded in our goal of having a really great foundation for that. We received great feedback from the participants.’’
