Political parties have pocketed almost $69 million in funding from the federal election.

Independent candidates have also received more than $1 million from the Australian Electoral Commission.

Parties, candidates and Senate groups that received four per cent of formal first preference votes received an automatic payment of $10,080, but could get more if they lodged a claim with the AEC setting out their spending on the campaign.
