The Finley Cricket Club recognised some of the best and brightest young talent at its junior presentation last month.

The prized Chris Rees Memorial Trophy for most junior wickets taken was tied among three players, Liam Rafferty, Archie Mason and Lenny Dattoli, all with eight wickets.

Archie also received one of the club's top awards for batting, before claiming the Under 16s Cricketer of the Year with eight wickets and an average of 36 runs in nine innings.

Liam took out the U16 bowling award with an impressive eight wickets in just 13 overs and Ben Chesworth won the team's Coach's Award.

Lenny's efforts in the Under 14s saw him share the top honour with Jacob Armer, both declared joint U14s Cricketer of the Year.

While Lenny also won both the batting (averaging 20 in nine innings) and bowling awards, Roree Wallis took out the Coach's Award for the side.

The club handed out three bowling awards in the U12s to Nick Chesworth, Robert Gowans and Charlotte Rafferty.

Jackson Tooke won the team's batting award while Anig Alam (Coach's Award) and Sam Hurlston (Most Improved) also came out winners on the night.

A club spokesperson thanked all parents and players for a successful season.

“All who played showed an excellent level of sportsmanship and camaraderie when in a Cats uniform.

“We would like to thank all of the parents for their continued support each year and at the presentation night, we look forward to seeing you all again next year.”
