The results will be shared directly with key political candidates and parties to ensure they are focusing on the right grower priorities, and direct GrainGrowers’ advocacy efforts over the year ahead.
The survey covers a range of topics, from biosecurity and pests to research and development and climate change.
“Growers are at the heart of all the work GrainGrowers does and the annual survey helps ensure that what is happening on the farm is reflected in our policy efforts,” GrainGrowers chair and farmer Brett Hosking said.
The 2022 Annual Policy Survey is being conducted by third-party market research firm Kynetec on behalf of GrainGrowers and follows ESOMAR codes of practice for confidential research.
Information provided by respondents in the study will be combined with others and no individual responses will be identified.
The 2021 Annual Policy Survey revealed the top three challenges facing Aussie growers were costs of farm inputs, labour/skills shortages, and machinery/capital expenses (including cost of repairs).
Most growers expected the industry to improve during the next 12 months due to a good season, strong commodity prices and improved technology and research.
As an added incentive, this year responding growers will also go in the running to win one of two $1000 Mastercard gift cards as a gesture of thanks for taking the time to share their views.
GrainGrowers’ 2022 Annual Policy Survey will close on March 9 and can be found at https://www.graingrowers.com.au/
