Applications are open until August 2.
The recruitment process is being conducted with the support of independent recruitment agency Omera Partners, which was selected last December in an extensive recruitment process.
Councillors have undertaken two extensive workshops with Omera Partners to brainstorm and capture the attributes and qualities required to lead the Strathbogie Shire into the future.
The outcomes from the workshops informed the position description and advertising for the job.
Strathbogie Shire Council encourages any community member with thoughts or ideas on the qualities and attributes they would like to see in the next chief executive to provide feedback in writing to council offices, or speak to a ward councillor before August 2.
Strathbogie Shire Mayor Amanda McClaren said council was seeking a contemporary leader who was entrepreneurial and had an authentic, transparent management style.
‘‘We are looking for an energetic and positive leader who has a strong understanding of rural and regional communities and enjoys being actively involved in their community,’’ Cr McClaren said.
‘‘The next CEO will be committed to working effectively with the council, empowering staff and promoting a culture of good governance, collaboration, excellence and quality customer service.
‘‘Council is looking for someone who will be flexible and be willing to embrace new opportunities and fresh ideas which have a positive impact on the organisation’s working culture, improve efficiency, meet the needs of the shire and are reflected in high community satisfaction.
‘‘At this stage, halfway through the advertising period, the interest in the CEO position so far has been overwhelmingly positive.’’
