Free fun in Strathbogie Shire

By David Rak

Those looking for things to do over summer can look forward to free movies and pool parties in the Strathbogie Shire.

Celebrate the arrival of summer in style at pool parties, with live music courtesy of local youth artists Splinter Kiss and DJ Le Grande Fromage, free barbecues, games and giveaways.

The fun will kick off at the Avenel pool on December 12, followed by December 13 at the Nagambie pool, December 19 at the Violet Town pool and December 20 at the Euroa Pool.

All pool parties will run from 4 pm to 7 pm and will be fully supervised drug-, alcohol- and smoke-free events.

Strathbogie Shire Council is also running free movies at the Euroa Community Cinema every Tuesday in January.

There will be free matinees at 2 pm, including Dora and the Lost City of Gold [PG], The Addams Family [PG], The Queen’s Corgi [PG] and Playmobil: The Movie [PG].

Mature-aged free screenings will be at 8 pm every Tuesday and include Joker [MA15+], Zombieland: Double Tap [MA15 ], Charlie’s Angels [M], and Terminator: Dark Fate [MA15 ].

The pool parties and movies have been made possible through the Victorian Government’s FReeZA Program
