Nearly 200 horses gathered in Tatura on November 4 for the biggest Arabian horse event in Victoria.

The 29th annual Arabian Championship Victoria at Tatura Park saw hundreds gather, with people coming from interstate to catch a glimpse of the action.

‘‘It was very successful ... the event brings a lot of money into the town from accommodation, feed stores, supermarkets and the caravan park,’’ event co-organiser Judy Meade said.

‘‘We had halter, saddle and performance classes ... with prize money, trophies and rugs up for grabs for supreme champions.’’

The Arabian Championship Victoria was the first horse show ever run at Tatura Park and Ms Meade said the organising committee was already excited for next year, which will be the 30th running of the show.

On November 5, Yarra Valley Arabian Club held its Arabian Extravaganza event at the Tatura complex.
