Police beat

■Police have interviewed a 61-year-old woman after being called to an illegal burn off at a Seymour property last Friday afternoon.

CFA attended the Wimble St property and extinguished the fire which the woman allegedly lit to burn off rubbish.

It is a timely reminder that fire restrictions are still in place despite the cooler weather.

■A Seymour business was broken into last week after thieves forced entry to the office area.

After taking keys to three vehicles in the rear yard, they then stole the cars.

Police are investigating after two of the vehicles were found a short distance away and the third was recovered in Echuca.

■Police are advising motorists to take care on the roads and drive to the conditions as rain is making the roads extremely slippery.

Motorists are also being asked to look out for wildlife on roadsides feeding on new vegetation growth as several have been struck in the past week.
