Some sizeable cod has been caught on both bait and lures and it seems targeting the vertical timber along the river has been where all the action is.
We’ve found spinner baits are again popular with this fish and slow rolling them has been getting some pretty good results, however if that’s not working for you, don’t be afraid to mix up the blade colours and shapes to see what the fish are keyed in on.
With the warmer weather looking to come through on the weekend, yellowbelly will be lurking around the edges looking for food.
We reckon soft plastics are the way to go and remember where there’s one there’s usually a few, so if you catch one make sure you thoroughly fish the area before moving on to your next spot.
Thanks to our mates at Daiwa Australia we have an extra $250000 cash up for grabs that all entered competitors will get the chance to play for.
Here’s how it works:
■Every registered competitor’s name goes in the draw to play and three competitors will be selected at random.
■Selected competitors then have two minutes to make themselves known to the judges to be eligible to play.
■25 sealed security envelopes are available for selection. Five of these contain a winning message while the 20 others contain awesome Daiwa Australia prizes.
■Each contestant picks three of the 25 envelopes.
■If any of them find three matching ‘Win Cash’ messages, they win $250000 cash, straight into their pocket.
■If a competitor draws a Daiwa Australia prize, they take home their winnings.
