KDFL expands to 15 teams for the 2019 season

Kyabram District Football Netball League has expanded to 15 teams, with Shepparton East Football Netball Club added to the 2019 fixture just last week.

‘‘We want to ensure Shepp East can remain a viable club and continue to positively contribute to the community,’’ AFL Goulburn Murray Region general manager Jamie Macri said.

‘‘It was very important to find Shepp East a practical and favourable outcome and thanked the KDFNL for supporting the application.

‘‘It is important the KDFNL clubs continue to be well supported and the league administration is given the necessary resources to support the KDFNL with the 15 club fixture for 2019.’’

Newly elected KDFNL president Fraser Kerrins supported Macri’s comments.

‘‘A lot of work has gone into ensuring we reached a positive resolution as quickly as possible so all clubs can move forward and make plans for the 2019 season,’’ he said.

The competition’s finals structure will remain a final six played over four weeks, with the grand final at Mooroopna.
