Avenel’s netballers mustered up a win for Libby Dawson’s 100th game.
Dawson had a good day for the Swans, starting in goals and rounding out the game in centre.
A presentation was held before the game for Dawson to celebrate the milestone being reached.
With three players in Vietnam, the Swans called on the help of three returning players to get the job done.
Tegan Sidebottom, Sarah Brown and Roselyn Rutherford all took to the court for the Swans in the 63-48 win against Longwood.
The win sees Avenel sitting comfortably at fifth sport on the A-grade ladder, ahead of sixth-placed Undera on percentage.
The Swans will be fighting to retain a top sixth position in the coming weeks to guarantee a spot in the finals.
With the round split in the Kyabram and District Netball League, the Swans now have a week off.
Returning from the bye, Avenel will face Rushworth which is sitting at second last position on the ladder.
The game is on July 14 at Rushworth.
