New fishing area for park

By Seymour Telegraph

Seymour’s Goulburn Park is getting a new multi-level fishing platform, improved toilet amenities and new landscaping and plantings.

The two-tiered platform on the banks of the Goulburn River will cater for different river heights throughout the year.

The project will make it easier and safer to access the water for fishing at the park, especially for children.

It will also include improvements to toilet facilities along with landscaping works and plantings.

Pre-fabrication of the platform began in May and it is due to be completed in July. The toilet and landscaping work will be completed at a date to be confirmed.

The new developments are thanks to $187000 from Regional Development Victoria, $113000 from Mitchell Shire Council and $100000 from the Victorian Fisheries Authority.
