Jerilderie netball

By Southern Riverina News

U11s: Well done on another great game Jerilderie. There were plenty of interceptions against very tall Deni Rovers shooters. The Dees still need to work on coming to the ball and using their voices on the court. Awards: Jerilderie Newsagency - Josie Hurd; Jerilderie Bakery - Jess Wilkinson, Rochford Painting - Addison Baker and Roden & Fields - Tilly Anthony.

U13s: Lost 4 to 29. It was a good effort from the Dees this week with improvement all over the court. Awards: Magic Scissors - Montana Aylett, Mungo’s Repairs - Rachael Baxter, Colony Inn - Abbey A’Vard.

U15s: Lost 27 to 33. Jerilderie started well against higher placed Deni Rovers, going goal for goal with them until half time. Unfortunately the Demons’ passing let them down and they couldn’t recover. Jerilderie need to work on driving forward to the ball and their pass selections will improve. So many positives in this team, however more composure with the ball would see Jerilderie win these close games. Awards: Colony Inn - Mia Neessen, KSB Accounting - Sophie Roe, Mungo’s Repairs - Tamzin Bell.

C reserve: Lost 26 to 34. The Dees once again had a great start, matching the Rovers goal for goal. Jerilderie have showed much improvement with their passes and reliability in defence. Unfortunately, the Dees lacked drive through the centre third but their goalers shot well to utilise every play they made down our attacking end. The Roos proved to be too strong in the end but each week the Dees continue to strive and improve, becoming a side to be reckoned with. Awards: Laura’s Tanning - Laura Ham; Colony Inn - Stacey Crutch.

C grade: Won 34 to 27. It was a much needed win for the Demons on the weekend. All played fantastic with Ally Barlow playing an outstanding game, she is improving every game. It was another great game for Brooke Mitchell and Fiona Edwards in GS leading to space an opening up Jerilderies’ attack to get the results on the board. Awards: Jerilderie Sports Club - Ally Barlow; Lawton’s Earthworks - Brooke Mitchell.

B grade: Lost 34 to 56. Awards: Barlow Ag - Tash Shaw; Jerilderie Sports Club - Katelyn Marshall.

A grade: Lost 24 to 45. Jerilderie was a bit short on players but Meagan Mauger, Tia Williams, Millie Stonnill and Phoebe Watson slotted in easily. There was good defensive pressure up and down the court and the Dees ran the game out with intensity. Mauger made it very hard work for Deni’s GS while Williams’ endless drive in the mid court and skillful feeding into the ring saw her also among the better players. Awards: Wunamurra BOC - Meagan Mauger; Bonshaw - Tia Williams.
