A 23-YEAR-OLD who tried to rob a man at knifepoint at an Echuca supermarket carpark will discover his fate this week.

Scott Gordon Russell, 23, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted armed robbery at Bendigo County Court last week.

The 23-year-old Queenslander threatened the man with a knife on October 15 at Coles supermarket car park.

Police said at the time, he demanded the man’s car keys before punching him in the face after he refused.

The victim suffered minor injuries and did not require treatment.

Detectives arrested Russell four days later and remanded him in custody.

Russell is due to be sentenced on Friday, February 15, in the same court.
