The Deni Rams fourths have booked their spot in the Murray League grand final after a solid 20 point win against rivals Finley at Echuca on Sunday.
The Rams got the jump on Finley kicking three goals to one in the first quarter before the game tightened up, with the ball going from end to end with minimal scoring opportunities
At quarter time Rams coach Tim Hillier asked his side to control the ball better and make the most of their opportunities
In a polished display Charlie Hillier led from the front, gathering possessions all over the ground and kicking five goals for Deni.
Tom Bradley and Zac Free had good games through the middle of the ground and Tom McCallum, returning from a broken hand, slotted straight back in and attacked the ball, farming it out to the runners around him.
Lugaidh Jennings-Gallagher and Zac Mills showed their versatility playing various roles for the Rams in defence, ruck and up forward.
Kaileb Wilson worked hard in the forward half all day presenting a target for his teammates and marking strongly.
‘‘To win any final you need the whole team to play well which happened,’’ Hillier said.
Along with Charlie Hillier (five goals), Luke Todd and Darcy McManus chipped in with one major apiece.
Final score, Deni Rams 7.7 (49) to Finley 4.5 (29).
The Rams will now meet undefeated minor premier Cobram in the grand final at Rumbalara on Saturday.
