The Deniliquin and District Soccer Club started its 2023 season on Saturday with an open day.
“We've had great numbers again this year, with B-grade being our most popular,” said DDSC committee member Matt Crothers.
“We are going to have to split B-grade into two divisions. Keep an eye out on our Facebook page for updated teams.
“It so good to see a great start to the season and I hope the players, parents and coaches get all they can out of this season.
“We'd like to thank all the volunteers that make the club possible - the committee, team managers, referees, canteen, and coaches. Without you our great club would not be possible.”
It;s not too late to register for the soccer season. For more details, email denijuniorsoccer@gmail.com.
The focus turned to AFL on Sunday with the start of Auskick at Deniliquin’s Hardinge St Oval, with more than 60 kids in attendance - some new faces and some returning.
“The program changed slightly to previous years to allow for smoother transitions between activities, and it meant the kids had more access to the ball,” Auskick committee member Emma Arthur said.
“Local sponsors have generously donated player awards and it was great to welcome some senior players from Deni Rovers who helped out on the day.
“Our program runs for 10 weeks and we are still accepting registrations which can be done online. Details are on our Deni Auskick Facebook page.”
