The Mitchell Shire Concert Band’s Big Bucks Bingo recently had its first winner.

Yolanda De Navi won a feature prize of $500 and in total won more than $680 from the one game.

Mitchell Shire Concert Band runs bingo every Saturday from its band hall at Chittick Park, Pollard St, Seymour, from 1pm to 3pm.

The Big Bucks Bingo game was introduced by the band last October and is proving popular.

There is an in-house jackpot to be won and several larger jackpots from the syndicate system, with a syndicate jackpot of up to $100000. Currently the jackpot is $40000, rising by $5000 each week until it hits $100000, or is won.

The bingo is run by nominee Rick Collings and band secretary Pam Collings, who said she hoped to see many more Big Bucks wins next time.

‘‘We have a very friendly lot of people who come along, and the food in the kitchen, run by Sue Hays and Judy Collihole, is scrumptious — lovely sandwiches and we’ve just started serving hot food again now the weather has turned cool,’’ she said.

‘‘PJ Cupcakes and Cakes (in Anzac Ave) provide cake each week for us that is to die for. We also provide free tea and coffee throughout the session.’’
