Emergency services were called to Yara Gifts and Accessories and Priya Hair and Beauty Salon shortly after 2.30am but the buildings were completely destroyed.

Two people were also safely evacuated from a nearby residence.

Jacqui Thomson, who owns Choices Flooring Seymour which is next door to the salon, said her business was luckily not damaged.

‘‘We’re very lucky from what the firefighters have said ... our brick wall was red raw,’’ she said.

‘‘They said without the brick walls our shop would be gone.

‘‘We’ll wait until we get the power back on and then get the roof checked.

‘‘We’re going to lock up for the day and come back on Wednesday. We would like to give a big thank you to the firefighters.’’

Yara Gifts and Accessories was raided by police and Australian Border Force in January when it is alleged about $20000 worth of illegal tobacco was seized.

The gift shop was again raided on March 16 when more illegal tobacco and a large amount of cash was allegedly seized.
