Flowerdale defeated Eastern Hill in a high-scoring affair, with Flowerdale chasing down 196 in relatively easy fashion. Eastern Hill battled hard for 196 after batting first, with Daniel O’Sullivan top scoring with 36.

Flowerdale defeated Eastern Hill in a high-scoring affair, with Flowerdale chasing down 196 in relatively easy fashion. Eastern Hill battled hard for 196 after batting first, with Daniel O’Sullivan top scoring with 36.

Chris Wilson was the pick of the bowlers for Flowerdale, taking three wickets in an all-round team bowling effort. Flowerdale never looked in trouble of reaching the target thanks to 65 from opener Patrick Hargood and 65 from first drop Patrick Kerr. The two big scores helped Flowerdale reach the total in only 36 overs with six wickets in hand.

Kilmore v Tallarook

Tallarook defeated Kilmore by 39 runs thanks to another great innings from opener Dale Short. Short steadied the innings for Tallarook and finished on 68 not out. Jac Smith-Williams and Dan Fisher provided great support in the middle order finishing with 62 and 41 respectively.

None of the batsmen could get going for Kilmore, who were bowled out for 162. Marcus Davern top scored with 34 but the consistent bowling attack was too good in the end for Tallarook.

Puckapunyal defeated Avenel by forfeit.

Pyalong v Seymour

Pyalong and Seymour remarkably tied in a high scoring affair, reminiscent of the famous tied test match in 1986. It is not often that teams will finish on exactly the same score but this dramatic match did exactly that.

Pyalong batted first and made a strong total finishing on 7/203 from 45 overs thanks to big scores from Gavin Thompson who finished on 82 and Damien Zoch who finished on 72. Daniel McLarty and Lovepreet Singh were the best of the bowlers with two wickets each.

Seymour looked in trouble at the start of their innings losing some early wickets, but steadied thanks to James Noonan and Simon Van Duinen who both made 35. Matthew Wilkins was the best of the bowlers for Pyalong with three wickets. The difference in the end could have been the 19 extras that were given up by Pyalong, including seven no balls.

Yea Tigers v Royals

The Yea Tigers comfortably beat the Yea Tigers with a strong first innings total of 214, with half centuries to Patrick Evans and Alan Bell. Chiallis was the best of the bowlers for Yea Tigers taking five wickets. Royals had no chance of chasing down the big total, being bowled out for 104. Lachlan Beatie was the best of the bowlers for the tigers with three wickets.

Other games

Alexandra defated Broadford by six wickets. Nathan Tyres top scored with 71 for Broadford. Justin Leary took five wickets for Alexandra. Jordan Purcell top scored for Alexandra with 47, Lee Mckenzie took five wickets for Broadford.
