Looking to expand your business into the international market?
Then why not join Mitchell Shire Council for a chat with Victorian Trade Commissioner to South-East Asia, Brett Stevens.
Mr Stevens, whose role includes facilitating trade and investment opportunities between Victoria and Indonesia, will speak at Wine X Sam (69 Anzac Ave, Seymour) on January 22 from 10am to noon.
The morning will be a chance for business owners to hear about and discuss a range of topics including selling goods and services in the international market, the challenges and opportunities of South-East Asia, and what Victoria’s Trade Commissioners can do for them.
Mr Stevens’ presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session and light refreshments.
Mitchell Shire Mayor Rhonda Sanderson said the event was a fantastic opportunity for local and regional businesses to explore expanding into the international market.
‘‘We have so many wonderful local and regional businesses that provide fantastic products and services to our communities,’’ Cr Sanderson said.
‘‘Many of these businesses aspire to extend into the international market, but it can be a daunting process and they may not know where to start or how to make it happen.
‘‘We’re extremely lucky to have the Victorian Trade Commissioner for South-East Asia, who is based in Jakarta, visit Seymour and provide business owners with an insight into what it takes to break into the international market and succeed.
‘‘Mr Stevens will touch on some case studies of businesses that have done this in the past, which will provide great ideas for businesses wishing to enter the overseas market.’’
RSVPs to the event are essential for catering purposes. Contact Council’s Economic Development unit, phone 57346260 or email [email protected] by the end of the day.
