An investigation has begun into the death of a Melbourne woman who was injured in a wake-boarding accident in Nagambie last week.
The woman, 38, was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with serious injuries on Wednesday, following the incident at the Nagambie Lakes Leisure Park.
She had been visiting the park for the day with her husband and a friend when the incident occurred on a stretch of water near the Nagambie Regatta Centre.
Police acknowledged quick-thinking members of the public who provided first-aid support in the immediate aftermath.
A report will be prepared for the coroner and police are not treating the event as suspicious.
