Old and new dances a popular blend

December 08, 2017

The recent experimental dance with our regular house entertainer Trevor Dennis was a great night and the concept of a blend of old-time dance and rock ’n’ roll seemed well accepted by dancers from all genres.

We ended up selling about 75 tickets and it was fantastic to see the dance floor full pretty much all night.

Sure some rock ’n’ rollers were scratching their heads at the old-time sequences and some old-timers were seen puffing and panting trying to keep up with the faster rock tempo, but generally the evening was a great success judging by the feedback we have had and the messages asking when the next one will be.

The raffle raised almost $200 and we have bumped that up to $250 for a donation to Legacy, seeing the dance fell on Remembrance Day.

We intend to donate raffle proceeds from our major dance events to local charities. If you were at the dance and have any feedback at all, then we would love to hear from you.

Meanwhile, Melbourne band Jump & Jive are confirmed to play at our Christmas dance this Saturday.

Contact us asap if you want to come along. You don’t have to be able to dance to enjoy a great night.

For those attending, make sure your tickets are paid up and a plate of supper would be much appreciated.

Proceeds of the raffle for this dance will go to the Nagambie Mens Shed.
