Students learn surf safety, fun

December 06, 2017

Year nine Seymour College students recently enjoyed a two day surf camp at Ocean Grove.

As part of the Year nine outdoor education course Seymour College students recently went on a two-day camp to Ocean Grove.

The intention for the camp was surf safety while also developing their surfing skills with specialist tuition from ‘Go Ride a Wave’ surf school.

The camp was blessed with beautiful weather and surfing conditions.

All students were successful in getting up on the board and most were able to catch waves at will. We also explored 13th beach where the students posed for a photo behind their sand sign.

The surf school was impressed with the students’ approach to learning to surf and their general conduct during the two days.
