Seymour Community Arts Centre recently turned back the clock 100 years to revisit the World War I era, courtesy of the Sunbury Choral Association.

The Anzac Tribute Show titled We will remember them honoured the 100-year Anzac landing at Gallipoli.

Themes reflected in the scenes revealed not only the impact of war on the soldiers but also their communities and loved ones remaining at home.

The poignant execution of the performance showcased strong vocal talents by members of the ensemble and the addition of songs from more recent times and also poetry reinforced the engagement of the audience.

Costumes and props supported the authenticity of the show while comic scenes added light relief to the display.

Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Seymour and the Seymour RSL, the event raised $3928 towards the Australian Rotary Health Initiative into Post Traumatic Stress Disorder research.

At the conclusion of the concert, those in attendance were left to contemplate the sacrifice that Australian troops had made throughout the years in order to maintain our nation’s peaceful lifestyle.
