A new shade sail has been erected above the shallow end of the Seymour Outdoor Pool

It’s never been more affordable to keep cool this summer, with huge discounts on offer for those who buy an outdoor pool season pass before Sunday.

Mitchell Shire’s outdoor pools in Seymour and Tallarook will be open for business from December 2.

Residents can enjoy a 20 per cent discount on season passes with adults $60 (regularly $75), children and concession $41.20 (regularly $51.50) or a family (two adults and three children under 18) $107.20 (regularly $134).

A season pass allows unlimited entry to both of the outdoor pools throughout the season, which ends after the Labour Day long weekend in March.

Mitchell Shire Mayor Rhonda Sanderson said there were more than 11000 visits made to the pools last season and staff had recently been busy preparing the outdoor pools for the upcoming season.

‘‘A lot of work goes into preparing for the outdoor pool season,’’ she said.

‘‘We’re really lucky to have these great facilities right on our doorstep. The outdoor pools are a great way to escape the heat, learn about water safety, meet new people and have a bit of fun this summer.’’

Season passes can be purchased from the Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre, and for more information residents can phone the centre on 57351500 or visit www.mitchellshire.vic.gov.au/outdoor-pools
