Nagambie on Water Festival is the beneficiary of a $1250 Victorian Government grant.

The Multicultural Festivals and Events program grants are designed to support events that showcase Victoria’s multiculturalism and bring the community together.

The Nagambie On Water Festival will run from March 2 to 4 next year at Jacobson’s Outlook.

Celebrating the local region, its people, services and produce, the festival will include food stalls, music and entertainment, sporting activities and an art and craft exhibition.

The Mitchell Multicultural Food Truck Festival, which will be held in Wallan on March 9 next year, has also given a grant.

Member for Northern Victoria Jaclyn Symes said grants are approved for events that foster cross cultural awareness, understanding and respect, and ensure that Victoria’s multicultural communities can celebrate, preserve and share traditions in meaningful ways.

‘‘These grants will ensure that multiculturalism in Victoria continues to thrive, and I encourage everyone to get involved at a festival near them,’’ she said.
