Arrests made over $100,000 jewellery theft

Two people were arrested last week in Mooroopna after allegedly stealing more than $100,000 worth of jewellery throughout Victoria and New South Wales.

They faced the Shepparton Magistrates Court today on multiple burglary charges and have been remanded in custody to appear next month.

‘‘We had an arrest on Friday ... it’s been an ongoing investigation for a while with other Criminal Investigation Units in Seymour, Yarrawonga, Cobram, Wangaratta, Wodonga, Benalla,’’ Shepparton police Detective Gary Dean said.

A Doreen male, 29, and a Yarrawonga female, 33, faced court yesterday and neither made an application for bail.

They are due to face court again on December 4 for a further mention hearing.
