Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre will throw open its doors for a day of family fun, with opportunities to explore the centre’s aquatic facilities.
A free family open day will be held on October 8, giving residents the chance to see what services and facilities are available for all ages and abilities.
Learn to Swim student races, open novelty races, parent and child races, pool inflatables, jumping castles, face painting, food and entertainment are just some of the things on offer on the day.
Mitchell Shire Mayor Rhonda Sanderson encouraged anyone who was thinking of enrolling their children in swim lessons to attend the open day.
‘‘Swimming has so many health and wellbeing benefits — it’s great for fitness, it’s a fun social activity and, perhaps most importantly, it’s an extremely valuable and potentially life-saving skill for children to carry on into adult life,’’ Cr Sanderson said.
‘‘If you’ve been thinking of enrolling your child in swim lessons, the open days are the perfect chance to take a look at the facilities on offer and have a bit of fun at the same time.’’
For those who enrol in the Learn to Swim program at the open day, there is a special offer to receive the first five lessons for just $25.
●The open day will be held from 9am to 3pm at Seymour Sports and Aquatic Centre on October 8.
