A community office has opened at Nagambie Bendigo Bank for community groups and individuals to use.
Community groups can use the office and its state-of-the-art technology such as computers, printers, wi-fi and software to create newsletters, reports, grant applications, posters and flyers for events, as well as for a meeting space.
All this is funded by the bank as part of its support for Nagambie.
The community office was the brainchild of Heathcote Bendigo Bank financial services director Stephen Trompp, and the space was official launched recently.
Nagambie branch manager Michael Prowse said the Bendigo Bank was the major backer to make the office a reality for the community.
All equipment is supplied in the office, and members of the Bendigo Bank team will be available to assist community groups when using the office space.
Mr Trompp encouraged more locals to open up accounts with the bank for themselves, community groups, investments, loans, insurance and other services.
A total of $50000 had been donated back into the community in the past three years.
Strathbogie Shire Mayor Amanda McClaren congratulated the Nagambie Bendigo Bank on being the first to have a community office to serve the community and its volunteers.
The bank is open each Monday, Thursday and Friday, and staff are only too willing to assist those who need support in the community office facilities.
