A challenge to all trivia fans

If you fancy yourself as a bit of a whiz with all things trivia, the Rotary Club of Seymour’s upcoming trivia night is just the place to show off your wisdom.

Quiz master extraordinaire Ian Moore will run proceedings, with an array of topics being covered on the night.

There’ll be sport, music, general knowledge, guess the face, name that band — anything and everything will be on the table for questioning.

The trivia night will be held on August 19 at St Mary’s College’s multi-purpose hall.

Tickets are $15, and need to be pre-purchased from Cartridge World in Seymour. Tables of 10 can be booked, or individuals can purchase tickets and be placed on a table that night.

Rotary Club of Seymour’s Greg Byers said all funds raised on the night would go to Rotary’s cause.

‘‘All of Rotary’s funds go directly to a local community group or organisation, and we also have a commitment to international programs, but about 66 per cent of funds raised throughout the year goes to local projects,’’ Mr Byers said.

‘‘We ask anyone in the community, if they have a real need, then please approach us and we give out funds as we see fit.

‘‘Last year we had a real youth focus, and funds from during the year went to the youth fitness centre, youth science forum, youth initiatives in schools and literacy in schools.

‘‘Every cent we get goes to the project we are (fundraising) for. Any costs are incurred by us.’’

As well as the trivia side of things, there’ll also be games, auctions and raffles that are sure to keep you entertained.

Guests can bring their own nibbles or supper, but drinks will be at bar prices — strictly no BYO.

Doors open on the night at 6.15pm, with the trivia kicking off at 7pm sharp.
