Make-A-Wish is calling on Aussies with a penchant for pastries to don their aprons, pick up a mixing bowl and join in Bake A Wish, where it’s literally a piece of cake to help make life-changing wishes come true for really sick children and teenagers.
Charity chief executive Gerard Menses said everyone was welcome to get involved in the delicious fundraiser, which launched last week.
‘‘Through Bake A Wish, you’ll be helping to take seriously ill kids on a life-changing wish journey, giving them hope for the future, strength to face the challenges of their illness, and joy to give them the positive outlook needed for recovery,’’ he said.
‘‘People can hold a bake sale, arrange a morning or afternoon tea, challenge colleagues to a bake-off, or even a team lunch where everyone contributes, and donate the money you would have spent on going out to a cafe.’’
Everyone is encouraged to sign up to Bake A Wish to raise funds to help make vital wishes possible.
