Nagambie proved far too good for Avenel in the reserves derby.

Avenel held an eight-point buffer at quarter time, but seemed to go sleep through the middle of the match, and the Lakers capitalised.

Hayden Heathcote led the way for Nagambie with four majors as the Lakers surged ahead to a 22-point lead by three-quarter time, with the Swans only mustering seven points in total for the second and third terms.

It was three goals apiece in the final term, giving the Lakers a convincing 25-point win at home.

Ben Robinson was again the Lakers’ key, while Chris Cates proved valuable for the Swans.

Score: Nagambie 10.10 (70) d Avenel 7.3 (45).
