In another rough game against the old rivals, Casey Drummond played a great game in centre, creating plenty of turnovers all over the court.
Chanelle Paulke was great in wing-defence, intercepting and creating opportunities for Nagambie’s attackers.
Unfortunately the girls couldn’t get the job done, with Avenel’s defence just too strong.
Casey Drummond and Chanelle Paulke were the Lakers’ best players.
It was strong, contested game against the arch rivals.
The girls put in another consistent four quarters, although our third quarter opened the game up to lead to a rewarding 17-goal win at the final whistle.
Ros Rutherford was again the anchor down in defence and she was rewarded with a club award.
Teagan McCarthy was a stand-out in attack, taking on the strong Nagambie defenders with confidence and accuracy under the ring.
The team will enjoy the bye before heading into the busy end of the season.

Well done to all of the attacking players.
There was some great strong plays and good rotation in all quarters.
Thanks to Tasman Taylor-Lloyd for playing an important role in the goals coming up from under-17 side and to Kate Nolan for stepping in to play her first match for the season.
Best players were Sarah Heathcote and Tasman Taylor-Lloyd.
It was a tough day for our C-graders, going down 57-20.
But considering we only had four of our original players playing, the girls fought hard and kept fighting until the end.
A big thanks to the under-17 girls for helping out.

A fantastic game by our defenders who rebounded, intercepted and attacked the ball all game.
The attack end took a little longer than usual to settle.
Ella and Maddison created the drive and with their experience, were able to assist the goalers to extend the lead in the second half.
Well done to Lucy on her 50th club game and to Alice who is improving each week.
Best players were Alice Loughnane, Lucy Zotti and Ella Mason.

A chilly start to the morning saw Avenel off to a flying start.
The Lakers girls settled in the second quarter and kept their heads up and continued to drive towards the ball and treasure the turnovers.
Unfortunately, the Swans’ lead was just too much to overcome, and the Lakers walked away with a six-goal defeat.
Best players were Mia Thomson, Bree Merrifield and Shae Merrifield.
