Rotary adopts a road

by
July 19, 2017

A dedicated crew from the Rotary Club of Seymour have been tidying up the entrances to the township.

A small band of Rotarians braved the cold winter’s morning on Sunday to pick up rubbish along the Seymour-Puckapunyal arterial, as part of the Rotary Club of Seymour’s ongoing commitment to the Adopt-a-road project.

The route yielded a truckload of rubbish as the Rotarians shared camaraderie, always with the hope of finding hidden treasure.

Most of the rubbish, however, is debris thrown from passing traffic with a large portion being from fast food outlets.

Adopt-a-road, with the aim of tidying up Seymour, is conducted three times a year and includes the town’s outskirts from Seymour to Puckapunyal, Shepparton and Yea.

Community members are always welcome to participate.
