Seymour’s St Mary’s College’s Year 10 students have been out in the community at work experience and structured workplace learning opportunities.
Students went to many varying industries including automotive, engineering, education, hospitality, electrical, media, veterinary, local laws, building, parks and gardens, retail, health and plumbing.
The feedback from students and employers has been really positive.
The college would like to thank the students for approaching their placements with such maturity, and their parents for their support of the program and of the students. Thank you also to our staff and mentors for visiting students in the workplace.
And finally a sincere thank you to the various employers for their patience and time in providing quality placements for our students and allowing them to have exposure to the world of work.
Without their support this program could not run.
The Year 8 students made slide show presentations of parables in religious education that had to be understood by the Preps (like the disciples had to make the stories of Jesus understood by the people of the time).
