Station St, Seymour, remains closed between Henry and Crawford streets following a fire overnight.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area.
The fire tore through two upstairs units in neighboring buildings overnight.
A CFA spokesperson said the fire was called in just before 8 pm and was under control just before 10 pm.
Eight trucks attended the blaze, which was hard to access due to the severity.
The building is still standing however surveyors will look into the stability of the building today.
The cause of the blaze is being put down to unattended cooking.
It is believed one person was home at the time of the fire, and Ambulance Victoria did attend.
Any injuries are unknown.
